Games, fun, excitement and renewal of friendship at the Sapphire Class 68 homecoming yesterday
Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
Great food, food service by Romy Manahan
Angono, Rizal PHL | July 22, 2013
We can only send kudos and ahhs to the organizing committee for the great job that they did to have this Sapphire homecoming for Class 68. Great job you guys. Thank you. Congrats. We owe you.
They made sure that every second was heart pounding and exciting. No boring time/lull and that everybody must bring at least one item home
There were games and raffles galore.
There was photo booth and everybody seemed to like this. From l to 4 everybody was making a beeline for the photo booth. It was free.
Arrival of guests:

Games
Class 68 Genio game
She got it right fast.!
Dr. Ramos guessing the sinigang na hipon; he won too
Women are more dextrous in this type of game
Rico came in second; he just recovered from a stroke (mild though)
And the winner is....
The needle threading game
The lone male contestant backed out because of poor eyesight
Passing the ball:

I laughed aloud because the way the game master announced the game, and/or the contestant described it:
l. " Hindi puwede ipasok kung malambot. Kailangang basain isubo sa bibig at saka itutusok"
2. "Pag naitusok na, itaas"
Hahahaha
We ended the afternoon with the singing of "If We hold on together by Diana Ross" There was no internet; no good sounds and sych:
I bet this one is good version:

The economy of our country lies in your hands - Modesta Javier, former principal of Rizal High School
Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
Rizal High School, Pasig City July 21, 2013
Mr. Demy Hernandez made a presentation which featured the graduation pictures of Class 68.
The start of the presentation featured the Message from the principal then, Ms. Modesta Javier, the iron lady of RHS at that time. She was a disciplinarian and stickler for time. You must be in the campus by 7:30 otherwise the gates will be closed and will open at 8:30 and you will be late for your first class.
She said that, in the second paragraph of her message: "Our country's economy is your hands"
This reminds me of the graffiti in the men's cr which mentions the same message, albeit in a green way "The future of the country lies in what you are holding now" The graffiti goes a step further by emphasizing that tools and skills are important in this endeavor.
How true.
45th anniversary for RHS class 68 - Sapphire homecoming
Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
RHS alumni Hall, Rizal High School, Pasig City - July 21, 2013
The theme was explained by Chair Luis and this meant that we had 5 years to go before we celebrate the 50th year. And many batchmates are going to the great beyond. So it is hoped that we can still be intact 5 years from now to celebrate 50 years of being alive and celebrating our togetherness at Rizal High School.
I missed the gemstone name for the 45th anniversary. Ruby is 40 years and 50 is Gold. What about 45 years?
Colt 45? Kalibre 45?
It happens to be a blue stone, the engagement ring, the birthstone for September. It was the ring given by Prince Charles to Princess Diana when they got engaged?
Evelyn guessed right: Sapphire
It sounds as if Class 68 is on fire! On Fire! Sapphire!

Alliteration wise, it meant that class 68 is on fire
The early birds; can you see the guy on the right? Many do not see?!
Still a picture of the early birds
The two co hosts wear red shirts - on fire!
The still empty food trays; serviced by Romy
An abstract mural at the Alumni Hall; can you decipher?
View of the track and field from the Alumni Hall
Pat our gracious host, talks to one of the early birds
The new craze - football, the RHS football field
Handsome buildings sprouting at the campus
Impressive glass pane walls of the RHS alumni hall

Rev. Pablo Cruz says the invocation for the start of the reunion
I attended the 45th year of RHS class 68 at Rizal High School Alumni Hall at Pasig City today where I was even required to be the co emcee of Ms. Evelyn Rosales who is one of the driving force and brains of this reunion.
Oh my God, I have to be a stage clown to catch the attention of everywhere. Yesterday, I biked to the house of Evelyn to do a dry run and oh Boy, we were spontaneous and there was no need to write a script.
It was a great achievement for the organizer (the chair is Luis Cuison and the vice chair is Ed Sambeli) Luis Cuison flew in monthly from Puerto Princesa where is the PPA port manager. He just arrived last night from PP last night. On the other hand, Ed runs a business that deals with DPWH
l. They raised over P120,000 and counting still; for the silver reunion, and for hosting the grand reunion the class had only P100,000. Well that was 20 years ago. But for a batch reunion, this is a great achievement.
2. There were plenty of prizes: blenders, toasters, washing machine etc. and the attendees were very happy.
3. There were 77 attendees, surpassing the ruby reunion (40 years) where 73 attended.
Congratulations to the organizers and to Class 68!
The chair of the celeb, Luis Cuison delivers the opening remarks; Evelyn R to the right
Prof Jorge besides Ed Sambeli (right) and other members of the class. Dr Ramos to the left is the City Health Officer of Taguig City
Joe Con (the father of Alma Concepcion) heads OTB at GAB, poses with Ed Sambeli
Ardy Cruz is very much involved with OFW deployment and outsourcing/helping others
Rico Torres is just recovering from illness; formerly with SMB
Prof Jorge in changed costume for PM hosting; wears Robin shirt; with Evelyn Rosales, the co MC
Ato Zapanta, a tycoon from Taytay with Demi Hernandez
Evelyn Rosales, was with ADB wants poverty alleviation projects
Ed Sambeli donated a major prize, draws the name of the winner
Yolanda Rubio thanks Pat and Becky Galutera for their ever open helping hand to Class 68. Thanks Pat and Becky (Yoly was the crush of Tino Santiago pala. as per Ed Sambeli). Yoly is very much Tisay looking now.
The photo booth was a hit. Posing for one of the 6 pictures
