PHL can be competitive vs Thailand

                        The Thai Pedicabs -  Tuk tuk;  but are fewer than PHL tricycles

An Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

I believe we can hold our own vs this progressive nation.  There are some simple things we can do:

l.  Promote harmony.  The king although does compromise wants to be in the service of every Thai.  No enemies.  We should stop the witch hunting ASAP if we are to have harmony and progress;

2.  Harness the power and intelligence of our best people.  For all we know, many of them are in Thailand and being paid well.

3.  Follow and respect our king. (Our President - do we respect our Pres Pinoy or former Presidents?}

4.  Improve our tourism infrastructure

5.  Focus on tourism, and lets  all utilize our resources for tourism A tourist spends an average of $l,600/stay.  Imagine how much it can do for our our GDP per capita of even amount~!!.  Know which side of the bread it is buttered on.  From 4 to l4 million tourist, it is still a tall order..  But we can work on it.

WE ARE INTELLIGENT, GOOD COURTEOUS AND FLEXIBLE.

We have excellent customer service.  Most us smile and are friendly to customers.  They are not.

I can see chinks in the armor of Thailand.  While they have large and modern airport (I saw that they have modern design, clean toilets, long pedestrian transporters, modern glass curtain net/web construction, the queing at the immigration was chaotic (as in PHL);   however at the the time there was a deluge of departing tourist for their home countries.

We are better than most of the Thais I met who are not as good..  We always have language problems with them.

Let us  capitalize on them and beat them.  20 years ago, we were ahead even in agriculture.  It is not late to catch up.

There are many Thai readers of this blog I know and congratulations to your prosperous nations and excuse for some of the critical comments and call to arms in the Phil.

                                  There are beggars and squatters too

                         Tuktuk, the old pedicab and MB besides it;  contrast in progress

            It is tough negotiation with these tuk tuk and taxi drivers by sign language (no meter)

                      Solid waste disposal is  a world wide concern;  BKK has lesser litter

Buddhism and Love of the King MoveThailand Forward?

Religion, Faith and Progress

From the conversation I have been hearing, the progress of Thailand can be traced to the discipline and ascetism practice by Buddhist.  Another reason is the followership and faith in the King and elevation him to the level of deity.  Pictures show the king seatting on teh same level as  Buddha himself.

However, there are conversations I heard that in the conflict between the reds (the poor) and the yellow (the rich and the govt officials) the King did not say a word.

In the cultural center that I attended, the King said he lives for the prosperity and welfare of every Thai.  That is great.  No wonder, Thai loves him so much

Some religion promotes poverty?

In the airport last night, a Philippine pastor lectured me on the role of religion, politics and economy.  He said that religious influence politics, then economics. In the Phil, he said Catholics want to make people poor so that they can gain dominiion. It s divide and rule strategy.  Politicians like it to be dominant over the masses.

What do you think of this suggested theory?  True?

Atheism and USA decline as an economic power

He said that USA is falling down because God is being left by growing number of athesists there?

Does Confucianism have to do with progress of China and Japan?

Unlimited wealth if all for a good cause?

The king is successful because he lives for the prosperity and happiness of all Thai people? How about focolare (donating l/3 of  the company's net income to third parties)
