Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
I just read a recent article which says that MBA grads make better CEO. (Other studies say this relationship is inconclusive) However, in my discussion with a former student on her problem with her partner, designated as CEO:
l. No VMO (vision mission objective) statements last year (no direction)
2. No board meeting or accountability/responsibility report.
3. The CEO is also the chairman of the board. Hence, while the talk was ripe for having a new CEO to implement the project (the invention in this case) nothing really happenned. Why? The Chairman of the Board does not see well his role as Chairman of the Board - recruitment and selection of executive officers to run the corp.
We ended the discussion to request for a stockholder/board meeting and the required reports.
