Anti Mining Groups Want Review of Mining Laws
Promoting Entrepreneurial Revolution
There was a paid advertisement from environmental groups and other NGO regarding undermining laws. Some objections were: destruction of biodiversity, uneven dispersal (or even lack of it) of value from mining; toxicity from mining operations.
In the light of high metals and precious metal prices, and importance of commodities in the post Eurozone problems, US financial meltdown, demand for metals and therefore mining presents a very profitable opportunity for investing in mining is in order/
Shall this opportunity be missed?
Can we amend the laws:
l. Higher take for the public sector or taxes;
2. More value adding activities in the Phil
3. Mandatory sell back at preferred prices to PHL
4. More local employment;
5. More provision for lesser environmental impact.
Is this possible?
Or is it mining ban and miss the boat, or we stall until the price is right?
