Why do MBA students need to take up entrepreneurship?

Many MBA students take up sophisticated subjects like bourse course, global marketing,social media. etc.

In my experience, the entrep elective is seldom (s)elected.  Hence due to lack of load, the 5 or so entrep professors is down to 3.  And two have administrative work:  CCE director and the other one is MBE program director. Of course, there is the vaunted MBE but it is not for everyone - it is for COO.

Back to the question:  why do you need an entrepreneurship education?

l.  The corporate world could have molded your mind into the tried and true;  you would not venture into the risky and unknown; entrepreneurship challenges your creativity.

2.  Entrepreneurship is a mini MBA - it is thus a review.

3.  Not many can write a strategy in their offices, but every one can start may start their own business.
And how do get their knowledge?  4 out of l0 MBA graduates start their own business.  What if you are one of those 4 and you do not know anything about entrepreneurship.

4.  The other important part of  entrepreneurship, of being businessman  which is self mastery has not been given important attention in other courses

5.  That part of entrepreneurship, being able to create something from nothing is short of being a miracle and is very strategic.

6.  Not many MBA grad are proficient in crafting a business plan;  it is part of the course.
