Str Reg, I am the Best Self Affirmation Exercise

An Ateneo Graduate School of Business Advantage

One of the finest and best moments for Entrep students is the boasting hour;  where students forget civility and humility, and affirm why they are the best in the class, if not in the world.  Truly, each individual is unique and like no other and that makes him the best in his own unique way.  Many told us that they are the best because they are miracles.

ENGR REDENTOR GARCIA.   In the break, prior to this portion, Engr Garcia, although not late, or his phone rang, paid for the food of the entire class.  Thank you Engr. (Did that influence on his being voted as one of the best)  He is from Pampanga and knows A. Hizon, who was a former classmate (college/hs?)  He used to work in Chevron where he was honed in operational excellence and workers safety.  He now owns a  construction company  and plans, as a serial entrepreneur to put up a clinic and trading company.  Some other snippets:  he was a class valedictorian, excels in Math, and plays basketball. He was not prepared for this;  although he had a 3 page manuscript.

SOR FELICIA MAIZA.  Is now working for someone (an employee) although his family owns an employee bus shuttle business.  She is from Lipa Batangas.  She  initially wanted to be a  nun (just like Maria in Sound of Music) but God wills that her mission in life is not in the convent, but to be in the service of others in business.

MARK SALVADOR.   Our Knight runner: (He is a San Juan de Letran grad)  a basketball player, all around ball players, now a triathlete and half ironman.  He works with Carrier and one of the missions he sees in life is to be organizer and to be in charge of others.  He believes that one must work hard and keep his word.  The blogger shares this thoughts as secret to success.

LEAH TOMAS.   The class sec, also from Pampanga.  Did not see the stability of school or family life.  Was orphaned early and jumped from school to school.  Her expertise is Industrial Engineering.  She is from Holy Angel U and Mapua just like Engr. Garcia.  She is a Bread Winner (for her family and Gardenia where she was the first Senior Supervisor) She is now a Mom and wants to be on her own business by 2012.

GERRY GUTIERREZ. Our salt and pepper handsome semicon engineer.  He is steeped into semiconductor design development and engineering.  His expertise is quality, just like two others in the class, Norman and Bonna.  He is a sticler for punctuality (that is is why no one beats him in punctuality?  that is a great Filipino trait.) He is a black belter for Six Sigma.  Maybe he would tell us how it really works?

NORMAN CALUB.  Spent l0 years with EPSON and now works with Carrier.  His expertise is engineering, process and quality.  He has extensive experience working with many small and medium entrepreneurs, training their workers to be expert installers.  He is contemplating of putting up his own business, but heavy academic load prevents him from doing so.  (Better withdraw now and do it.  Opportunity comes but once?  Go for it.)

BONNA REYES.  Also an expert quality guru.  She was teary eyed when she said she was able to provide a nice house for her brood.  Quite an accomplishment.  She was a scholarship and activist but reformed herself after realizing that it is jobs and education that can make people leave poverty.

ARMANDO COLOMA.  He is a maestro and guru in the real sense of the word. He is a brown belter martial arts practitioner (so a martial arts guru).  Finished college although his family was challenged financially.  He is a ladies man and they are invariably attracted to him.(Perhaps he can make a SR for the rest of the male students ??? how to do it)  His secret desire is to be scout for beautiful ladies, remember (the next Donald Trump)
