Andrew Tan is now the 4th Richest Man in the Philippines

Sound of Music at Resort World

Several years back, in an Entrep class, the head of Megaworld, Mr. Andrew Tan, was a featured entreprneur in a class similar to this.  It was serendipitous;  the taipan was interviewed because the student's father was a SSS commissioner who was friend of Mr. Tan.  (I suppose, Mr. Tan did a lot of business transaction with SSS.

Yesterday, I was at Resort World  (which one of the companies of Mr. Tan)  to watch a musical play, Sound of  Music.  Mr. Tan has gone a long long way from building just housing units, to resorts, casinos, malls, hotels, and mixed use complexes.  He has also brandy brands, and other liquor brands (The Bar)  Back then, he was  a hesitant owner of Brandy (emperador), the sales and distribution of which he knew absolutely about.

Also yesterday,  he was the guest speaker of UE midyear graduation exercises at PICC:   as a UE graduate, an outstanding alumni (he was also Magna Cum Laude).

Prior to 2000, Mr. Tan was not well known in the Real Estate business.  His Megaworld, Empire East gave Ayala, the Villar, Robinson a run for their money.  He is now Ph 4th richest man with over $2 billion in networth.

Congratulations Mr Tan. (The other Andrew is Mr. Gotianun). Can you be better than Mr. Tan?

Take a look at the pictures at Resort World and judge for yourself, why he is rich and successful:
