You can not start a business a business unless you have a product. The starting point of any entrepreneurial venture is creation/design of product. With the product design comes value creation, then value delivery and finally value capture. Creativity, inventiveness go together. But inventiveness and creativity are not necessarily innovation.
A new product is always a solution to a need or problem. Be sure you can solve that problem first; if the other guy discovers and delivers it first....That is what Jack Welch says to be the real competitive advantage - the ability for the organization to learn and act on these learnings.
