Conversation with a Mega Church Leader
Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
Respost from Management Fortune | Shelley Dubois | March 2013
It is nice to have discussion with leaders who transcend the traditional business. as with Rev Rob Bell who heads a mega church. He used to be band member. He said that being a band member forces you to be compelling; if your show and you act is not compelling, the audience will smoke you out.
The objectives for running a a religious organization is murkier, but running a business forces clarity of thinking - the bottom line. You need to feed the church members and you need support
He dismisses hell (being negative it is not helpful) and says that church (es) are troubled institutions, whatever it is you can find it. It is not perfect. All churches face challenges.
