There are many large and interesting malls and shopping centers at Bangkok. Surprisingly there are many small stalls about 4 x3 meters. with wide assortment of goods, probably paying little rent and unlike SM and Robinson that gets big share of sales of tenants. They are most modern too and employ latest in building design and architecture.
