Alma reports that Cisco Visual Networking Index forecasts the growth of mobile devices to reach 8 billion by 2016 and will exceed the worlds projected population by that time of 7. 3 billion as projected by UN.
Mobile tablets will grow the most
Most of the growth will be coming from mobile tablets. The growth of these number devices is expected to rise 62 fold during the period. The growth will be made possible by the 2G, 3G and 4G networks. Traffic on these network doubled last year; and it expected that traffic in such network will grow during the same period.
Africa and ME will lead the growth
The top notcher for the growth is Africa and Middle East with 104% growth, and next is Asia Pacific; third would be North America, and then Europe.
