A leading daily, PDI, has found out that the operator of the SLEX skyway is soon proposing for skyway project from Buendia to Balintawak. The proposed skyway is expected to make it at par with MRT; it will cut travel time from Buendia to QC (Cubao) in 6 minutes. It is part of the concession of CITRA when it was awarded the Skyway SLEX project.
The Citra CEO Shadik Wahono said the proposal is with the government and just waiting for the government approval
It will cost PHP 24 billion and will take some 30 months to finish well within the regime of the present President; it is not expected to disrupt traffic using the same innovative construction technology it used for the SLEX project. It will be dubbed CPA - for Citra - PNCC Alignment. It would connect North and South Expressway.
8 entrances/exits; max P99.00 toll fee
It would have 8 entrance exits: Buendia, Quirino Ave, Plaza Dilao, Aurora blvd, E Rodriguez Sr. Ave, Quezon Ave, Sgt Rivera, and Balintawak. The fee will be capped at P99.00. Isnt this wonderful?
The competitor for the project, MPIC, said that it couldn't be done at that price, or the P99.00 maximum toll fee is not possible? Who is to be believed?
l. What will be the improvements coming from this proposed project?
2. How will this affect commerce and business?
3. How will it improve happiness of Metro Manila residents?
4. Will business along the skyway path be affected?
5. If north and south expressway are interconnected, what will be effect on Luzon travel? Business growth and development?
