Use Tweet To Grow Your Business

The forwarded article from Business Thrival is about tweeting for business.  Three key points were mentioned:

l.  Use tweets to build relationship with customers;

2.  Spy on your customers through tweets;

3.  Build your brand through tweets.

There is a sidebar article on building your mind, body and soul.

My personal experience with twitter:

l.  Twitter is  not very popular in the Phil, FB is.

2.  If you can get followers there are very few;  it does not do much to improve awareness

3.  Since there are few twitter users, you can not spy on your competitors, nor can you do #l and 2

Issue # 97 - June 1, 2012
Dear Jorge,

A business can gain a great deal of exposure in a short period of time by leveraging the power of social media. Sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter can literally turn a newsworthy product into a household name, sometimes overnight.

Today, social media is becoming a prime means of communication and an every day occurrence. Users expose their personal lives, share their likes and dislikes and even share their buying habits. So, as a business, you may be missing out if you are not leveraging the power of social media sites to increase your sales.

In today's Main Essay, I share three strategies on how to grow your business with the social media giant Twitter.

In today's Check It Out section, you will learn more from Chad Mureta, a guy who went from a near fatal car crash to becoming one of the world's top app marketers, on how to make an income creating iPhone apps. He pretty much has app marketing down to a science.

In the Quick Tips section, you will learn how to boost your energy, how to improve your memory through the act of delegation, and how to lift your spirits and put a smile on your face.

We hope you enjoy this issue of the Business Thrival Newsletter.

Tweet About It
By Jynell Berkshire

You have probably heard the stories about people posting a video to YouTube or Facebook and it becoming the most sought after sensation overnight. These social media sites reach millions of people each and every day, and have the power to give anyone exposure to the masses for absolutely no charge.

Twitter is another social media powerhouse that has a vast audience and can also help you grow your business.

In fact, every day, millions of people also use Twitter as a means of communication to talk about what's happening in their personal lives, to share helpful tips and advice from experts, to chat about the recent scandals involving celebrities and politicians, and to discuss the most latest and greatest gadget that you simply must have. People, including your customers, simply tweet about everything.

But let's be realistic. It really does take consistent effort with these social media channels if you want to see the real benefit.

So, let's look at three simple strategies you can use to leverage Twitter to grow your business.

Strategy 1: Build Relationships With Customers and Prospective Customers

One of the most important reasons to use Twitter for your business is to build relationships with people. This includes your current customers, as well as potential customers. An easy way to do this is to set aside time weekly to find good things to tweet about.

If you don't have a large following yet, a great way to meet new people on Twitter is by engaging in conversations with others by using the @reply feature. You simply search for topics that you find interesting, and then comment back using @reply. You will quickly build a rapport with those who want to learn more about you, including your business, and they may follow you in return so they can view your future tweets.

You can also let your customers know about what is going on in your business. Whether it is an announcement about a new product, a special promotion you are offering for a limited time, or an upcoming event they may be interested in. Using Twitter to connect with your customers is simple.

Twitter allows you to hear what others are saying about your business, especially a dissatisfied customer. You can immediately address any concerns. It helps you to keep an ear to the ground about your company. It also helps you to know what your competition is doing, which is the next strategy.
Earlier this week, Denise shared a cool video with you on how Chad Mureta got started with iPhone apps from his hospital bed!

I really didn't understand how easy it is to make an income with apps until I saw Chad's new video...

Chad Makes It Super Simple <~~~ 7 Easy Commandments

He lays out the "7 Commandments to Building an App Empire" and it's wayyyy simpler than I had imagined it could ever be...

It turns out that you don't need technical expertise, business experience or even any real creativity to make money with apps.

That is...If you'd just follow the 7 rules he covers in his new video...

7 Critical Rules For Apps <~~~ Watch Today!

Seriously, Chad makes it so simple to understand, that even a 10 year old kid could learn this stuff (He covers that in another video on the site...)

Strategy 2: Know What Your Competition Is Doing

Always knowing what your competition is doing can help you grow your business. With Twitter, you can literally spy on your competition. You can read what customers are saying about your competition, good or bad…but especially bad.

For example, if a lot of people are tweeting about the poor customer service they received from your competitor, then why not take advantage of this? Tweet them and say, "hey I heard you are having a problem with this...did you know that my company also provides the same service but we value our customers and guarantee results." You will be amazed at how quickly people will respond and want to know more about your business. You can even use Twitter to build and strengthen your brand.

And if you see your competitor getting a lot of praise for certain things they are doing, you may want to look at offering some of those same features in your products. This will help you to build and strengthen your company brand.

Strategy 3: Build And Strengthen Your Brand

You do not have to be Coca-Cola, Nikken, or Microsoft for people to know who you are on Twitter. Twitter can help you build, strengthen and promote your brand regardless if you are a large or small business.

A quick way to do this is to make sure to customize your Twitter profile so that it says and looks the way you want it to. For example, make sure that your bio states who you are, what your business does, and that it links to your web site to allow people to learn more about you.

You can also tweet something that has to do with the internal workings of your business. Customers will chime in on the conversation, generating interest for others to learn more about your business. Word of mouth advertising is one of the most powerful advertising tools.

A feature within Twitter you can use to find out what people are saying, or not saying for that matter, about your business is Twitter Search. With one click of the mouse, you can hear from real people about what they are looking for.

For example, if you have a product that fits a need that people are talking about, then introduce yourself and begin a conversation. Start by talking about yourself first so that they get to know you. Once this happens, slowly start introducing your business and the product or services you offer. This will build your brand with them. This same approach can be used to strengthen your brand.

So there you have it. In a nutshell, Twitter can provide your small business with another channel to inform and engage your current and potential customers to grow your business. Happy Tweeting!

1.  Set time aside every week to build relationships with customers and prospective customers on Twitter.

2.  Read what customers are saying about your competition and offer something better.

3.  Customize your Twitter profile to build and strengthen your brand.

4.  Make Twitter a part of your business marketing strategy, and then use Twitter consistently if you want to see the real benefits.

If you've ever wanted to make a greater impact and empowering influence in your world, I hope you'll enjoy today's movie as a gentle reminder about the one thing that can transform any situation in literally 30 seconds or less:  compassion.

What a little third grader says to his teacher at Christmas time instantly bypasses the head and goes straight to the heart of any issue, no matter what.

You can re-energize your personal relationships and workplace culture - and inspire greater loyalty - by remembering to put into practice the message of this classic, time honored story.

Make sure to turn on your speakers before you watch it, and according to Sam Brandt ... "You should warn people to get their hankies ready before the movie!"

Walter Wood writes ... "I am a 6 ft. 2in., 250-pound construction worker and this short, but profound, film actually brought tears to my eyes.  It made me realize that I must be more mindful when I'm training my apprentices."

Each time I watch it I feel inspired to make an even bigger difference by remembering to put compassion first.  I hope you will too!

Don't forget to share it with others...They'll thank you for it!

Together we can make a difference...

You guys, oops sorry, ladies are just great!! I keep being inspired and applying your tips. It's surely the best thing I can do!!

Body:

Whether a late night or intense workday has hijacked your energy, you can power through your slump by eating fatigue-fighting foods like whole grain crackers, pumpkin seeds, yogurt, or even dark chocolate. These foods are all great energy boosters.

Mind:

Do you have little jobs that need to be done around your house that are lingering in your mind? You know those jobs like fixing the toilet latch to finally reading all the magazines that are piling up on your night stand. By simply delegating these tasks to someone else, hiring to have them done or doing then yourself clears your mind and reduces stress.

Spirit:

To feel happier in seconds, enjoy the sun. Open the shades in your office, take a walk outside, or even eat near a window to get plenty of sunshine. The sun will immediately lift your spirits and put a smile on your face.
