What pissed me off at the tourist destination?
Ateneo Professor on Entrepreneurship
What pissed me off (what could be improved) at the various tourist destinations that I just visited:
l. Lack of electricity. While CNG is plentiful at the place, in a prime tourist destination is from 2 pm to 6 am only; More investment is needed.
2. Food service. In a restaurant where we ate we observed the following: 1. they gave us the wrong food vs the one we ordered. 2. most of the food in the menu is not available. 3. lack of good service - bowls did not go with soup ordered 4. the order took too long to come.
More Food service training needed. The boatmen however have good culinary skills.
3. Hotel service - very poor at the north. In the hotel where we stayed, (at it is not a budget hotel) we had to get our soap, towel and hot water from the desk. They have good internet though. (In PP, hotel service and facility is great - hot water, TV, telephone and internet (although spotty at times) airport transfer and tours. Too.
4. The 40 km of road from Taytay to the northern part of the island. It is being constructed in earnest though.
5. The tricycle rule - you have to get off at the terminal and you have to take the tricycle. After a tiring 5 hour drive, you have to get off, drag your luggae, board the tricycle and cough up another P50.00. Could there be a better way - say just add on P50.00 and let the vans deliver to your hotel...(This is a political issue for the lady mayor?)
6. More efficient processing of fees. There was a horrendous crowd at the Bay Tour. And all because of the processing of payment of a fee. Could this not be computerized or before our arrival at the processing area?
Certainly much effort has been done to build the tourist industry: the linkages with travel agencies, guides, vans, hotels. At the Northern destination, the island hopping is an experience of the lifetime. Congratulations.
