Mr Luk is the guest of the group of RBF and is a beneficiary of DOST support for entrepeneurs on process and technology. DOST whose Assistant Regional Director for NCR is RBF supported Mr Luk on their packaging.
Mr Luk is former drug representative (a lot of entrepreneurs come from the ranks of detailmen from Pharma) and is married to a doctor. He tried to be on his own to do something better, because he has done what he planned to do in the pharma. So he started out with wine making, because in frat, he used to mix drinks and was ably assisted by his father in law who was an OFW and had wine making as his competence abroad. They started promoting the wine by giving away wine to neighbors and relatives.
They specialized in honey making which is a more specialized and expensive wine. The raw material for ordinary wine is sugar which would cost P60.00/kg. However, honey cost is P300-400/kg.
As part of this venture, he grew bees. They started out with 5 colonies; now they have over a hundred. He knows much about bee behavior and their structure: the queen, workers, the scout, and the bee dance. He says that the best tasting honey is the one that comes from Narra bloom.
Luk is setting his sights to exporting his honey wine abroad. And having tie up with honey bee producers from Australia. Another global entrepreneur.
And a serial one too because, he said his wife is planning to put up hospitals. Unstoppable duo hmm
