Mr Jojo is a classmate of the entrep students. As he spoke about his journey, his persona changed; and ceased to be one of an easy going, softspoken person to the one who has leadership, is disciplined and tough.
He spoke a lot about the experience and hardships he went through and he spoke a lot about playing a game (a strategic game? with his adversaries) and being up to challenges. He likes challenges. When there is a problem, he wants to find solutions.
However, these are his legacies and famous words to live by as we, the entrep students leave the portals of Rm 205:
These are concrete guidelines and directions so that you will now know:
l. Dream; do not be stopped by lack of resources;
2. Stay focussed on a goal (this is difficult to determine; when is the goal realistic and when is the time to throw in the towel But its the entrepreneur's call.}
3. Be challenged when people say it can' t be done (most inventions especially the jetplanes - many people said it cant be done. Tom Watson Sr fmr CEO of IBM said only three mainframes can be sold)
4. Foul ups happen because you or someone allowed to happen.
5. Love your customers (customer bond in the business model)
6. Find people who are smarter than you are (from David Ogilvy. We will only become a company of dwars if we hire small people)
7. Do not be afraid to compete with large companies (multinationals? or global companies)
8. There are no bad or good luck; only faith in God and hard work
Traits of Entrepreneur:
l. Risk taker
2. Tolerance of ambiguity
3. Skills such as creativity (nu 6) resourcefulness, flexibility, recognition of patterns.
4. Emotionally Stable
5. Tough, practical, logical
6. Competence
7. Passionate
What kept ringing in my ears long after the class is over in relation to # 4 is never show your people that you are afraid. You may inwardly be fearful, but never never show that you fear.
NO FEAR!
