Group 4, the Judge
There were four things that we did for today: we had the debate: "Are Entrepreneurs Born, Made, or are Lucky (Fated, Destined, result of some freaky event?), the continuation of inspirational video presentation, the Potato challenge exercise, and the group creative exercise.
The debate:
The class was divided into 4: l was for born, 2 was for made, 3 was for lucky and 4 were the moderators. The moderators set the debate rules: the length of time to present, to rebut, and concluding statements. They had even the tough task of deciding who won the debate: who had the preponderance of facts (quantity of data) or quality of data.
The Lucky group
At the end, Group 4 decided it was the "Lucky" group that won the debate (the group included Mike) mostly because some groups presented hostile facts, supporting the "Lucky" group
Macky, one of the judges commented that while some group presented cogent facts, they lacked ownership. (And that would be my comment for the NU 12 that have been sent in as draft to the NU12 blog - they lacked ownership; the innovation could not be applied by the author to himself or to others. The Pasta NU12 was OK because he thought of it because he had a severe toothache while in vacation. This is also true in strama presentation, where students were just spewing data they could hardly apply to their cause)
It is funny that most of the participants sometimes addressed the judges as "Your Honor"
I guess much learning was achieved by the groups as they grappled with their offensive and defensive position; the internet was rapidly and instantly utilized to gather data (or information)
Course coverage
The debate is actually the main content of the subject: born - Self Mastery; made - Mastery of the Enterprise, and Lucky - Mastery of the Opportunity
Meeting of the Entrep Judges
There were 3 class members who were not part of groups?
The Group Break-outs; Preparing for the Debate
I hope the debate set many minds on entrep mode. The unanswered question over the years, just like the Leadership question: are they born, made or lucky, remains unanswered. the answer could be this or that.
In the entrepreneurial journey, you have to take your pick.
