Will this further make cracks at Wall St.? The fragile financial situation in the US?
Are financial troubles in Wall Street not over yet.?
As an aspiring businessman years back, I looked up at Wall Street money men and their financial engineering tools with awe, respect. Now I am not sure.
Why did this happen? How could this have been prevented?
Chase Manhattan and JP Morgan were solid and respectable banks/investment houses. JP Morgan was iconic in the history of US financial system.
Remember also an earlier post in this blog which mentions the bank's CEO mentioning that US has royal straight flush? Well, JP Morgan has a bad deal..... So sorry for them...

What had started as a concert film about the Rolling Stones, a follow-up of sorts to the Maysles' The Beatles: The First U.S. Visit, turned into a Zapruder-like document that sounded the death knell for the flower power of the 1960s. |
| Robert Reich: How J.P. Morgan Chase Has Made the Case for Breaking Up the Big Banks and Resurrecting Glass-Steagall
What just happened at J.P. Morgan reveals how fragile and opaque the banking system continues to be, why Glass-Steagall must be resurrected, and why the Dallas Fed's recent recommendation that Wall Street's giant banks be broken up should be heeded. |
