Fwd: Three business lessons from the Queen of Disco Donna Summer...

Lesson from great singers.  Great singers, are masters in self mastery.  They are great because they
had the l0,000 hours practice (cf. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell)  You can not be great singer or great entrepreneur if you do not practice, practice, practice to master your trade.

What are the three rules:

l.  Tell a story about you and your product.  (So when she sings "She Works Hard for her Money, what story do you get about her and her life?}

2.  Lead in a niche.  Be unique in that category.  Do not be a copy cat.

3.   Break the rules.  Be creative.  Be unconventional

Subject: Three business lessons from the Queen of Disco Donna Summer...

Last week when recording artist, singer/songwriter Donna Summer died,
I began thinking about lessons learned from her life story...
Known as the "Queen of Disco", Summer was the first woman to chart
back-to-back multi-platinum double albums, reaching the status of
one of the world's leading female singers.
She was also the first artist to have three consecutive double albums
reach number one on the U.S. Billboard chart.
A five-time Grammy award winner, her second Grammy was for "Hot Stuff"
for the "Best Female Rock Vocal Performance," which was the first time the
category was included at the Grammys.
And while I could continue on with her accolades, today I want to share
three lessons you can take from Donna Summer's long and successful
music career.
On today's blog, you'll find out:
  • The biggest secret for selling more of your products or services
  • The one thing you can do that will practically guarantee mega-sales
    whenever you release new products
  • What Donna Summer did that you can use to position yourself to
    charge more than your competitors
  • How to create business breakthroughs
Go here now, check it out, and be sure to leave your comments.

P.S. Here at GKIC, we may not have any "queens of music", but we do
have our own "Queen of venture capital and exit plan strategies",
Bette Tomaszewicz better known as Bette T. (Frankly she's queen of a
lot more than that, but those are clearly two areas she rules!)
For five lucky GKIC members, our Queen, Bette T, will be holding a
FREE LIVE Hot seat on the next Women's Series Call on June 7, 2012.
If you'd like to be a part of this incredible free hot seat coaching opportunity
go to www.GKICWomen.com/speaker and enter your information in the

your application, fill it out and turn it in no later than this Friday, May 25, 2012.
