"Entrepreneurialism has Become Cool"

From "Global Heroes", Special Report on Entrepreneurship, The Economist

Entrepreneurship is an idea that has come and like an invading army, its coming can not be resisted.  The new products and ideas spawned by entrepreneurship: from cloud computing, Siliconitis, cell[phone, the Grameen Ladies in Sri Lanka, selling cellphone, has made entrepreneurialism wildly cool.

In Oxford, where entrepreneurship was disdained before, there is a business school, the Said School.  It has Oxford Entrepreneurs, one of the leading societies.

Willliam Baumol, one of the leading economist places entrepreneurship as the center of his theory of economic growth.

Paul Romer of Stanford University argues that economic growth take place whenever people rearrange resources to make them more valuable.

Harvard Business School has thrown its support likewise for entrepreneurship.  It has the Arthur Rock Centre for Entrepreneurship with 30 faculty members.

The number of  endowned professorial chairs in USA grew from 237 to 406;  for the world from
27l to 536!! In the Phil, there is the Go Negosyo movement which promotes entrepreneurship.  Vivian Tan established a school for Entrepreneurship - ESA (Entrepreneurship School for Asia headed by Dean Pax Lapid)  Ateneo GSB ACE, under Dr. Morato, has the Master of Business Entrepreneurship, program, which is very successful.

Entrepreneurship is so cool;  your time has come.

"Every generation needs a revolution an ENTREPRENEURIAL REVOLUTION."
