FOPSIES Social Entrepreneurs.

Traditional NGO's, charities are a dying breed.  The EU, Japan, and US donors are now in donor fatigue because of their own financial crisis. Traditional NGO simply ask for money, do their service to the community, and then repeat the cycle of asking for money from donors the next year.  Now, these type of NGO are a dying breed.

The key word for social entrepreneurs is sustainability and viability.  The profit making motive is part and parcel of the enterprise activities so that the social enterprise can continue serving society (the primary purpose)

Thus Aravind hospital in India serves 60% of its clientale by asking 40% of its clientale pay.  Aravind is the McDonalds of cataract operations and does 250,000 eye cataract operations a year.

Now is the time for FOPSIES (For Profit Social Enterpises)

Philppines Illac Diaz starting with Peanut Sheller project, pier one, The Rio Dome houses and schoolbuildings, have such projects  to help the poor with viable and sustainable projects to make the project pay for the enterpise operating expenses to help people in need.  The projects do not need to borrow or beg for money to continue being useful to the society

"Every generation needs a revolution an ENTREPRENEURIAL REVOLUTION."
