Entrepreneurship and Public Policy

In the past, I have maintained that an entrepreneur must discount public policy in his quest for entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs can achieve their goals inspite of the government.  In terms of nation, we can see that Italy despite allegations of corruption etc. is leader in fashion shoes and Ferrari.  We have our own Splash Jollibee which grew leaps and bounds without government support, tax break, without the blessing of a politician, without the favored business clause protecting it.

I said the government does not have all the answer.  We study entrepreneurship to help the government.  We follow the mantra: "Ask not what the country (government?) can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

But studying international entrepreneurship and the Doing Business by World Bank report, we see the effect of public policy on business and entrepreneurship.  Thus, if we are to promote job creation and economic growth, public policy on ease of doing business must be attended to, too. That is if we want to keep pace with the rest of the world.  We are interconnected intimately with the rest of the world..

"Every generation needs a revolution an ENTREPRENEURIAL REVOLUTION."
